An introduction to installing the RADiCAL Live plugin for Unity, which is required to send streamed data from website into Engine.
Supports Unity Engine Versions: 2019 +
Time to complete: 5 minutes.
Recording your motions within RADiCAL Live happens through the web browser. However, if you want to stream animation data into Unreal, within a new or existing project, use RADiCAL's proprietary plugin for Unreal.
Here I will show you how to download and install the plugin for use.
Before you start…
- Projects must be apart of Unity URP rendering Pipeline. The plugin will work with others, but with unexpected alterations and stability.
- You can integrate the Plugin with any existing, or new projects.
- This requires you to have a created account with Radical Motion, however you do NOT need to be apart of the paid Professional tier. You are able to do everything on a Free tier with some limitations in number of streams to integrated software.
To install the Plugin, download it from our website, https://radicalmotion.com/unity
At the root of the Assets, drag the .unitypackage into the Project Folder, or, in empty space Right Click > Import Package > Custom Package.
Important!
The RADiCAL SDK needs to be in the Root of the Assets folder, and should not be nested elsewhere. This will result in runtime errors or data being lost during streaming and recording.
You will be presented with options of importing all, or some of the Package contents. Ensure everything is selected, and press the Import button below.
