An introduction to installing the RADiCAL Live plugin for Unity, which is required to send streamed data from website into Engine.

Supports Unity Engine Versions: 2019 +

Time to complete: 5 minutes.

Set up

We frequently update our plugins with new features, bug fixes, and community suggestions. We always encourage you to update your plugins, and we structure our tutorials and guidance assuming this.

Inversely, you might want to rollback an update to a previous version for whatever reason.

Updating the plugins is as easy as installing the plugins as the process remains the same.

Important!

Do always remember that you are altering a Plugin integrated within Unity. Make a back-up for your work.

Updating the Plugin

To add a new version of the Plugin, it’s as simple as drag and drop your new Plugin version, or Right Click > Import Package > Custom Package.

This will prompt you to unselect or overwrite certain components. This is because the root folder of the RADiCAL SDK is named the same, thus prompting the overwrite.

Untitled

For example here, I started with Version 1.4, and replacing it Version 1.3.

An alternative, and more assertive way of replacing is by deleting or moving the installed RADiCAL SDK folder, and then importing your new package.

Make a back up!

If you’ve made ay direct modifications to the plugin, such as working directly inside for Characters or other Assets, make a copy or a back up so you can return to it later.
